News 2011
October 16th, 2011 - Jim and his bandmates mentioned
in Avril concert review from Regina Leader-Post Newspaper
In a review about Avril's concert in Regina on Thursday,
October 13th, a nice band mention:
Lavigne made good use of her five-member
band - Al Berry (Bass), guitar, Rodney Howard (drums), Steve Ferlazzo
(keyboard), Jim McGorman (guitar) and Steve Fekete (guitar) - with the
highlight coming during the intro of Alice. The combination of
piano, organ, drums and guitar was almost orchestral. It was a big
sound that led perfectly into the song.

April 11th, 2011 - Jim's interview
with www.iconfetch.com
Check
out the phone interview - it's awesome. Jim talks about everything and
anything, he is very informative and funny. Or as the write up says:
Jim
McGorman is currently on tour as Avril Lavigne's guitarist in support
of her latest record, Goodbye Lullaby. The multi-instrumentalist was
also a part of the house band for both season's of the CBS show
"Rockstar" (INXS & Supernova). He's toured with a variety of
people, including Cher, Shakira, and Paul Stanley of Kiss. In
addition, he also makes music of his own. Icon Fetch talks with
the Philadelphia native about his multi-faceted career - how he got
hooked up with Lavigne, helped put together a made for TV band, and
manged to continue to be a much-sought after instrumentalist. He
also shares some great stories of being on the road.
No wonder he is our
favourite musician!

Jan 28th,
2011 - Promo with Avril Lavigne
Jim
is currently in Japan with Avril Lavgine working (and hopefully
enjoying himself!) as her Musical Director and band member, promoting
Avril's upcoming record Goodbye
Lullaby (released throughout the world in early March).
Avril and the band will be performing on a few TV shows (we just posted
the
Music Station performance). After that they are headed to
Europe and after that Hong Kong and back to Japan - for more promo.
So far only appearances on the Taratata TV show in France and the
famous San Remo Festival in Italy have been announced, but we are sure
that there will be a lot more.
Of course, sunfired will be following all that and posting all the
Jim-worthy stuff there will be to post.
On another note: aren't we, the Jim fans, lucky?
Unlike some solo artists out there, Avril gives a very prominent role
to her backup band. They are front stage, right there with Avril
whenever she performs; as you can see on all our photos and videos. She
really seems to be enjoying working with them. She even tweeted about their arrival in Tokyo the other
day!
